Lanigan not rushing to set Main Sequence target
TRAINER David Lanigan will not be rushing to make plans for Main Sequence following his gallant second to Camelot in the Investec Derby at Epsom on Saturday.
Main Sequence followed up his victory in the Lingfield Derby Trial with a fine effort in the Derby, when he snatched second ahead of Astrology, finishing five lengths adrift of the impressive Camelot.
Lanigan will give Main Sequence time to recover from his Epsom exertions before any plans are made for the son of Aldebaran.
Quoted on his website on Tuesday, Lanigan said: "Main Sequence ran very well and we are very happy for his owners, the Niarchos family, who have supported us from day one.
"He has come out of the race in good order and is back cantering, but he will have an easy week. We will just how he is before making any plans for the rest of the season."
Main Sequence is a 10-1 chance for the Ladbrokes St Leger with the sponsor.
